Sermon by Elder

When we speak it must be the truth and it must be the word of God.  We must view things with a sound mind.  Speak the things which become sound doctrine.  We have to be sober minded else we will not be effective.

Jesus is the light of the world if he didn’t come we would have been in darkness.  When we are in darkness, we are out of the will of God.  The word of God says we must be obedient or we will not honour God.  We must be sober and watchful.  We must be in good character or we will not be effective.  God gets the praise and the glory, we get the blessings.  We must be respectful and show leadership.  We must also show a good example. 

Husbands must also love their wives.  Hearing the message will not save us, we must have a personal relationship with God.  When we do the will of God he will guide us, he will lead us into the path of righteousness.  When your mind is sober you are ready to preach and teach.  When the doctrine is sound, speak it in season and out of season.  When you are doing God’s work, let no man distract you.  In todays world if your mind is not sober you are prone to make mistakes which will cause you to miss out on the blessings of God.
